The workshop will be dedicated to the analysis and discussion of the 1961 Academy Award- winning comedy Divorce, Italian Style/Divorzio all'italiana, directed by Pietro Germi and featuring Marcello Mastroianni, Daniela Rocca, and Stefania Sandrelli. An unparalleled mix of scathing social commentary and comedic genius, the film will offer the workshop participants the opportunity to further develop their linguistic and critical skills while deepening their knowledge of postwar Italian culture.

Led by Domietta Torlasco, Assistant Professor of Italian, Comparative Literature, and Screen Cultures at Northwestern University and author of The Time of the Crime (Stanford UP, 2008).
